Ramesh Thapa, 28

Dubai, UAE
Occupation:Construction Worker
Years Abroad:5

"I left Tulsipur five years ago because I couldn't find a job that paid enough to support my family. In Dubai, I work 12-hour days in extreme heat, but I can send money home to my wife and children. I miss them terribly and only get to visit once every two years. If there were good opportunities in Tulsipur, I would return immediately to be with my family."

Sunita Gurung, 25

Sydney, Australia
Occupation:Student & Part-time Barista
Years Abroad:3

"I came to Australia to study computer science because there weren't any good tech programs in Nepal. I work part-time to cover my living expenses while studying. I'm learning valuable skills and hope to bring this knowledge back to Tulsipur someday, but only if there are tech companies where I can work. I dream of helping build a tech industry in my hometown so others don't have to leave their families behind like I did."

Bikash Chaudhary, 32

Doha, Qatar
Occupation:Security Guard
Years Abroad:7

"I've been working in Qatar for seven years now. The money is better than what I could earn in Tulsipur, but the working conditions are difficult and I face discrimination. My children are growing up without me, and my oldest barely recognizes me when I visit. I've missed so many important moments in their lives. I'm trying to save enough to start a small business back home so I can finally return permanently."

Anita Poudel, 29

Seoul, South Korea
Occupation:Factory Worker
Years Abroad:4

"I work in an electronics factory in Seoul. The work is repetitive and exhausting, but I've learned valuable skills about manufacturing and quality control. I send most of my earnings to my parents in Tulsipur, who are using it to pay for my younger siblings' education. I hope they won't have to leave Nepal like I did. If there were manufacturing jobs in Tulsipur that used technology, I would bring my skills back home."

Help Bring Our Youth Back Home

By transforming Tulsipur into a tech hub, we can create local opportunities that will allow our youth to build their futures here at home, with their families and communities.
